Mechanical repair covers the work under and behind the panels — suspension and steering components knocked out in a collision, brakes, cooling, and the general repairs that get a car running and driving right again. On a collision job it's often part of the repair; on its own it's the regular work of keeping a car on the road.
A wreck damages more than sheet metal. Bent control arms, knocked-out alignment, and damaged suspension all affect how the car drives and how safe it is. Handling the mechanical side in-house means the car leaves driving as straight and tight as it looks, instead of bouncing between two shops.
